LOVEBIRDS
Oil on wood panel, 20 x 16 x 1.5 in.

This painting explores aging as a continuation of intimacy, humor, and curiosity rather than a retreat from them. In a culture that often frames aging as loss, the image offers an alternative narrative: growing older as a process of deepening — where love becomes more assured, humor more intimate, and connection more intentional. The couple is modeled after my grandparents, whose relationship embodied this spirit.
